With 23 cottages, a gracious dining room with a fireplace, fragrant courtyards, tranquil pathways, and plenty of sunshine, it’s a serene and protected environment nestled in the 12-acre Sunny View campus.

What kinds of social opportunities are available to Summer House residents?
We have a variety of social activities and memory care programs scheduled throughout the day, tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Activities are geared toward providing physical and mental stimulation, joy, and comfort. These include music, art, crafts, painting, cooking, excursions, pet therapy, life skills, cognitive activities, gardening, and balloon tennis.

Do Summer House residents have access to the entire Sunny View campus?
Yes, Summer House residents are welcome to visit any common area on the greater Sunny View campus as long as they are escorted. Often Summer House residents will have lunch with family in our main dining room, and have their hair cut or styled at our on-site salon.

Can family members visit Summer House residents whenever they wish? And can family members take residents out of Summer House?
Yes, family members may visit Summer House whenever they wish, and they may take residents out of Summer House, provided staff has been notified. We recommend doing so between breakfast and 9:00 p.m.

Does Summer House staff check on residents on a regular basis?
Yes, residents are monitored 24 hours a day using the latest technologies. This monitoring is unobtrusive and includes pendants that notify staff to respond if a resident has fallen. Cottages are also equipped with motion sensors that alert staff if a resident is getting up during the night. Additionally, all common areas are equipped with security cameras. Staff also performs personal wellness checks on a frequent basis as required by law.
