Human connection through innovation.
We are always assessing and integrating innovative technology into our care programs. These novel approaches to care can help improve both mental and physical engagement, and have a profound impact on quality of life. Innovations in memory care have other wide-ranging benefits, including improved relaxation, motivation, socialization, memory, language abilities, focus, and concentration. The technology has also been shown to reduce stress, loneliness, boredom, and the need for psychotropic drugs.
State-of-the-art technology can improve quality of life.
Every day we see the positive impact that leading-edge innovation has on individuals with memory impairment. At Summer House, the Music and Memory program helps reconnect people with songs that have been meaningful to them—and the results can be dramatic. We see how PARO, a robotic seal, creates a therapeutic, care-based connection for residents. The advanced technology of the iN2L system includes a 70-inch touchscreen and supports social interaction, intellectual stimulation, physical engagement, and spiritual connection. And through Skype, we nurture bonds with family and friends outside the community.
